Podcasts have exploded in recent years.
There are shows on many different topics. As I was doing research on which shows to include in this article, it was exciting to find so many shows talking about addiction and recovery.
Podcasts are a convenient way to get information or to boost your motivation to stay on your recovery track.
Listening to podcasts can help family members as well. You can learn more about substance use and not feel so alone.
Sometimes, I listen at home, but I usually have a podcast going when I’m on my walk. Also, I turn on a podcast when I’m going be to be in the car for a more extended amount of time.
There are many podcasts for anyone interested in recovery topics.
From research-based information to AA speakers, family members and those in recovery can find podcasts that meet their needs.
My goal with this article was to compile a list of podcasts that you can refer to. If I missed a show that you love, feel free to add it in the comment section.
Happy listening!

Dear Cathy,
Thank you for opening my eyes (and ears) to so many podcasts about recovery! I wish we had these when I needed help and empathy. The world of wellness and hope has exploded in the past decade! This is great news for folks who are sober-curious and for those who have family members they’re trying to understand. May these listening resources bring more education and COMPASSION to the table and aid in the fight against the stigma that continues to harm. Here’s to recovering out loud!
Thanks, Shelley. A great point about recovering out loud via the podcasts. The more awareness we can spread, the better!
Cathy, I really appreciate all the work that went into compiling this list. This is information that will be helpful to so many…both those in recovery and families caught in the web spun by addiction.
Thanks again!!!
