Are you struggling to find a treatment program for your son or daughter?
Have you sent your child to treatment, just to find out that it didn’t work?
Today, I’m excited to share my interview with Joanna Conti.
One of the most challenging parts of substance use for parents is figuring out where to send their child for treatment.
There are few statistics on success rates for treatment programs. It leaves a parent not knowing what programs have the best outcomes.
Joanna, who has a daughter in recovery, has made it her mission to change that. She wants to give families a way to determine what programs will give the best chance of long-term recovery.
She has been researching programs for the past few years so that loved ones have more information on program outcomes.
Joanna’s website, Conquer Addiction, states:
As we know well, finding the right rehab treatment program for your loved one in the heat of a crisis can be very difficult. Conquer Addiction is a non-profit whose primary purpose is to provide independent and unbiased information so you can find the right treatment for your family. And because we believe it is crucial for treatment centers to scientifically monitor and report how successful their clients are in meeting their treatment goals, we rank order the treatment centers meeting your search criteria on this basis.
In my interview with Joanna, she discusses what motivated her to provide addiction treatment success outcomes and what her top discoveries are.
Here’s my interview with Joanna:
As her daughter cycled in and out of multiple alcoholism treatment programs, Joanna Conti became very frustrated by the lack of success rate data available to help families identify the best facilities. A scientist, reformed politician, and serial entrepreneur, Joanna started Vista Research Group in 2015 to help addiction treatment programs measure and continuously improve the effectiveness of the treatment they provided. As the number of treatment programs measuring their post-treatment success rates has grown, Joanna was finally able to achieve her original objective this spring when she and her daughter, Karina Monesson, launched an online directory of rehabs with the best-proven success rates at www.conquer-addiction.org.
